about which will be the best for your needs so in this video i’m going to talk a little bit about each one of these two platforms and show you the pros and cons of each one of them and lets you decide that which one will suit your needs so first blogger has several advantages it’s very easy for new bloggers to use and setting up a blog with a blogger is simple as following a few steps there is nothing to install some of the other advantages include the price which is completely free you don’t have to purchase a domain name because the system will give you an address based on the name of your blog so for example here you can see at the at the top here how to web work that’s the name of my blog dot blogspot so there will be always.blogspot.com but you will be choosing the first part here before the dot like in this case i choose how to web work and secondly it’s very easy to use post into your blog is very easy all you have to do is come to this button here that says new post you click on it and then you start entering the details of the post you can also change the look or the theme of your blog very easily using this uh dashboard here all you have to do is go to theme here to change the theme that you’re using so you can choose from multiple templates that are already ready to use here and you can also change the layout like for example the navigation bar the header etc so you can decide how the blog will be looking like so all this is good but however blogger does have some major disadvantages when it comes to creating money making blogs so lack of flexibility compared to other options out there the design and the function of blogger blog is very limited you can download and install other themes but most of them look very similar this means that your blog will not stand out in your niche and secondly the domain name will look like something dot blogspot instead of yourblogname.com and the biggest con is the ownership you never truly own your blogger blog because the files and content are hosted on blogger server so if google which owns blogger decides to turn off your blog they can do it just like that now before we go and speak about the second wordpress is the other popular platform for bloggers there is a free option that functions similarly to blogger like you have the blog name dot wordpress.com however there is also a free option that allows you to have your own website name or domain name so what you do is you install wordpress on your website hosting so you need the hosting in this case and hook it up with a domain name that you choose if you don’t know how to do this well most of the hosting companies they should prepare everything for you so you just click a few buttons and your wordpress script is installed on your hosting space the other advantage is customization so wordpress themes are diverse and plentiful and they are very very uh beautiful i am using actually this simple theme or theme simple template where i have my blog posts on the left hand side here and the body and i have a sidebar where i can advertise my businesses or anything else so if i click on the page that says blog i’ll be brought to uh where my my articles are published these are the recent blogs these are the recent articles i wrote so if i click here for example i right away have the article here and always i’m including some of my videos and some advertising at the side bar and if you go to the dashboard of wordpress it is full of functionalities and options you can see here at the left hand side that you can do lots of things with it it’s very actually useful when it comes to plugins so these plugins are small applications small scripts that you can install and each one of those is meant to do something in particular however wordpress is not without its problems uh it’s not as user friend friendly as blogger which can make it intimidating for newbies but it i don’t think it’s that hard it’s true that it takes a little bit of experience and then you will be able to work with wordpress easily another thing is that you have to spend some money to uh purchase the hosting and the domain name for your blog but finally despite these disadvantages most professional bloggers go with the wordpress option because they maintain the ownership of their blogs and can customize them to their heart’s content but ultimately the choice is yours and you can of course go with what will fit your needs the best now for my personal experience um it’s better if you go with the wordpress and make your own blog where you own everything the content the theme and you can of course customize everything the functionalities and the look of your site and after that you will be able to make another a copy or another blog on blogger or wordpress.com and link to your principal blog from there so these are like high authority websites like blogger for example and if you link back to your website that will be available
