okay hopefully I have everything done correctly so cheers I have coffee today because I cannot stay away from it um hello happy Wednesday it is a Wednesday so hopefully we are going to get over the midweek doldrums um and get some good writing done today um I am trying not to dwell on the uh election news both like the big National and smaller uh more local elections sort of not necessarily going the way that I had hoped so there’s that but today we are hopefully going to have a little bit more fun with thinking about tropes um I think I mentioned last time and I um found a great website that lists it says it’s a complete list of book tropes but we all know that’s a lie and some of their tropes are more like structure um so but anyway it’s at least a good start so here’s the Kindle prur uh website web page I guess I should say that deals with or suggests several um like Trope things for different uh genres so like action action adventure tropes larger than life threats military exploits uh black and white morality or even gray morality double cross um contemporary fiction unresolved endings um fantasy of course you have the chosen one you have hero’s journey you have Damelin distress which could also be other genres as well hopefully I’m sharing these correctly yes okay historical fiction they’ve got some additional I don’t know some of these I’m not sure are necessarily tropes uh some of them could be like a the Dual timeline for sure could definitely be a Trope um some suggested horror literary mystery uh and romance sci-fi as well Thriller in suspense young adult and then that’s the end of the their suggestions so if you um are sort of stuck on maybe what is your main Trope or one of your main tropes you might could take a gander over those um but I listed four because again YouTube only allows four poll options um but yeah so I listed four poll options for what is your work in progress’s main Trope enemies to lovers The Chosen one/ Heroes Journey time travel or dual timelines and red herring SL loock M locked room for Mysteries um so but again like there are far far too many tropes to like put in a single poll so please feel free to just type in what your main Trope is um Cara says it’s probably Second Chance romance also a good Trope for the male male couple both had their hearts broken before for the male female couple the man is a widower with the young daughter nice so both Second Chance Daisy says hello everybody hello welcome St says I cannot really cannot figure out which Trope e it blinked um maybe something in the Kindle printer book trps would help I don’t I know Austrian here we are just uh stupid when it comes to voting but my heart yeah it’s like 2016 but worse so yeah uh the romance is more friends to lovers okay and the fantasy part I don’t know what it would fall into probably because it has come out it’s come out of a dream and not regular brainstorming well at least you know you have friends to lovers um and in terms of like the fantasy element of things like is there a Big Bad Evil is there a ticking Time Bomb um so they have to get things done by a certain time period um you know or is like the fate of humanity at stake here you know all those kinds of things um so what is one of one of those might work I don’t know depending on how you have structured your fantasy so um kagi says hi hello welcome cool gamer is also here and says hey Daisy has fake dating dancel and distress vampire story nice nice nice I love I love a good fake dating or like contract relationship marriage or otherwise it’s it’s funun not in a real sense because HR would have your butt for that kind of thing but but in the realm of fiction it’s nice so um anyway let’s go ahead and we’ll P pull a card um do need to do a little bit of work in my bullet Journal I spent the morning um I made a Christmas broom with a red white and green variated um thread and then I added Jingle Bells at the top of the handle it looks really cute I also went and got Sushi from the Kroger and they have dropped their Wednesday Sushi sale down back from six they’ve dropped it down a dollar from six where they had raised it to back to $5 so I was like yeah excellent um because I had a coupon for dollar off which made my Sushi actually $4 which was nice um and then they had the LA salt and vinegar chips which for whatever reason are really hard to find sometimes up here down here wherever wherever I am in relation to you um and so I was excited because they had them and I had a coupon so Viva coupons I like them the fantasy part really comes into play because something did not happen at a specific point in time oh interesting um most stuff in fiction would be bad in real life to be honest yeah yeah The Rance is also definitely fake dating as well okay good good good lots of tropes fun tropes they’re entertaining although I’m not entirely so sometimes I like the marketing via tropes so like you know to expect like enemies versus lovers or contract relationship um so some of those can be built into the premise of the story and revealed on the blur but marketing via the tropes I’m not sure if like you should list all of the tropes in order to Market like you should leave something to be discovered I don’t know anyway um I pulled the cat today it’s number 13 our cute little ginger cat claim your Independence it’s got some jewelry and some wings very cute and my hand is very shaky today I am sorry um so claim your Independence or ginger cat very cute claim your Independence when the cat meows she is calling you to claim your Independence and allow for some space between you and others in your life the only way you can grow in all of your relationships is to have a healthy sense of self-respect and self-worth when you walk with dignity knowing who you are self-aware and willing to grow trusting value that you bring the world will mirror all of this back to you when you say no to codependency and Ames Live and Let Live and practice taking risks as you wander into new territory for yourself the cat rejoices she is here to urge you to let your independent spirit roam free so there you go Chariot for today we’ll just we’ll just go with Stacy’s and what was on the bottom when I flipped the deck over so um let’s see if this will be enough to help Focus there not great see if a bigger sheet of white will help there it is so ction success forward movement control willpower determination two opposing forces working towards a goal so working together but establishing your own territory as the cat say um but also going forward adventuring it’s very cool it’s hard to distinguish the um the darker horse in here like it sort of melds into the pyramid in the background so so there you go oops and I am very much out of focus oh well we’ll see if this works if not I’ll just cover the camera for a minute or yay I’ve learned that I can just swap cameras between my laptop which is covered and the actual web camera and it resets it which is great yes so Chariot and cat that is our our pull for today all right so let’s go ahead and get started I know we’re a little bit earlier than we usually are but that’s okay it means more writing time right and I’ve also I’ve pulled down a bunch of different tasks for myself because I’m kind of all over the place today again because I had coffee and this is actually my second giant mug of coffee for today so I feel like my brain is probably going to be all over the place so we’re just going to work with that so I’m not sure if I’m anticipating like a great number of words in any one particular project today but hopefully I will be able to work the entire time so that is that is the goal is uh making sure that I’m at least somewhat focused Monique says Hey Y’all honestly too anxious to write right now yeah I understand that but if you just want to hang with us and have company that is perfectly fine um we gonna do just came to say hi yeah yeah I had to do something with my hands this morning which is why I wind up making the Christmas broom which I should probably show youall at some point but not right now right now we’re going to focus get to work so one save your document if you’ve already been working today if not now is a great time to pull up whatever you think you’re going to be working on two rereading um looking for some issues uh sort of getting back into um into this project um I did also update my trackers and um daily log so there’s that but yeah so no no words yet but I stared at words does that count surely it’s got to count for something but no no I reread um how much is this 1,442 words um so there’s that uh I’m trying to make a decision on which which way to go because I have sort of like two two kind of clear paths that I could take with these characters um and so I’m trying to decide which way I want to do it and sort of like what the ramifications might be if I went one way or the other but yeah so did not make a decision though um Stacy said I’m so snacky today so snacky um and I yeah I bought when I was at the store this morning to get my Sushi um we had a coupon for a free bag of Cheetos so I got Cheetos um and then I got two bags of um cheddar and sour cream potato chips and then I got two tubes of lays salt and vinegar potato chips never mind the fact that we just finished off like homemade cheex mix and we still have some pretzels left and some garlic chips left and like all the all the salty crunchy things um so and also yesterday I that was one of the things I did yesterday was I made um made homemade um from scratch apple cobbler we had a bunch of apples but um we’re sitting on the counter and I was not in an apple eating mood in terms of like the raw apple um so I was like well let me let me make a cobbler because I’ve been thinking about cobbler for about two months now so I made a very delicious cobbler and ate that so that that took care of all the sweet stuff yesterday plus I have a bag of um I always have a bag of like peppermints around and just occasionally snack um so yeah so I I get the snackies totally and this is this is without me like there there is no CBD there is no marijuana this is just regular snackage so um Monique says what card did you draw today uh we draw we drew the cat and then the Chariot your H check mix right now yeah it’s a good one which I discovered this about a I guess last last fall that they sell the bags of the garlic Ry chips just by themselves uh so that made me very happy so I I have since bought several bags of just the garlic chips um Kate says finally made it back from the team meeting you’re going to be doing a lot of writing today a little bit behind but that’s okay welcome we’re glad you’re here and Alex and is here hello hello hello welcome how are yall we’re making it we’re we’re going to try and get a good bit done today so yeah both sound like good cards considering current events yes yes yes JM sweet hello all jumping in a little bit late welcome Stacy was on the sweet side of snacking you you were eating marshmallows it helped but you’re in such a grazing mood so do you have the little mini Marsh like the small marshmallows or the big jumbo likeor making ones um but yeah they do like until you’ve had that that sugar amount that is just too much marshmallows are kind of fun to snack on yes you’ve done so little this week you managed 2,000 words since Friday hey it’s 2,000 words more than you would have had if you didn’t work at all so there you go you have you have added 2 Words which is not small potatoes cat says Hey hello welcome welcome welcome 323 words for you nice excellent kagi he got 220 fantastic excellent Stacy’s like I didn’t get anything done s you had snacks you had snacks that is something you’re so cold I have to hide under the blankets to warm my hands for a minute oh no um Don’t They isn’t there some sort of like K like handw Waring Cave thing for well I know there’s one for your mouse but is there like a keyboard [Music] keyboard I don’t even know what to call it um warming keyboard hand warmer oh well that’s not anything like so they have a heated desk pad so that you put you put it on your desk and it warms up the the whole area which I didn’t know that existed um I I’m pretty sure I’ve seen something yeah okay so I’ve seen okay I’m just gonna like show yall the Amazon page thing I guess um so I have seen like this one for the keyboard and I was assuming there must be something like that for touch typing on a keyboard um but there doesn’t appear to be um instead you have like fingerless gloves which is fine but then they have these mats that I guess are like uh electric heating pads and some way um but it’s like the whole desk mat or at least the cent center of it warms uh or you could get like a small hair dryer hand dryer thingy but now I’m kind of intrigued by this um heated mouse pad situation those are just hand warmers okay so this one has uh 1,200 views 43 1,61 okay so let’s check out what these reviews say I’m just curious now I’m just super curious so it’s from iic Casio mostly five stars uh customers like the warmth functionality and design of the mouse pad keeps their fingers at just the right temperature works well as a desk mat is easy to clean that’s also good uh large enough to fit both right and left hand I would hope so um opinions are mixed about the auto shut off some saying it works just fine While others saying it starts shutting off after 30 minutes I’m not sure you would want a constant Heat on your electronics like your keyboard for longer than 30 minutes so somehow that seems fine to me maybe maybe that’s just me cute and warm okay so this one’s like a floral pattern now I’m just like shopping for us I guess okay this one’s only a three star does the job gets very hot keeps you warm gets dirty um okay so this person struggled to have it keep clean maybe a darker color would be better so it wouldn’t show dirt so there you go so maybe a darker pattern do they have multiple patterns they do um they have a dark wave neutral o that’s pretty I like that that one have a honeycomb which is also super cute this was the one in the first picture I think uh a navy blue which apparently is not available in this size stay positive work hard make it happen lots of butterflies and stuff and that’s pretty cute too okay sorry now we’re just we’re just shopping for JM and myself so um how much is this again okay so you’ve got that’s these are the ones in the extra large if you go to the XX I don’t know what the difference in sizes are so the XX is 15 by S 15.7 Ines uh and then 34 35.4 in so that’s pretty big actually in terms of length um interesting okay all right there you go there’s so like 30 bucks for the XX and then 25 for the extra large so yeah there’s there’s a a Christmas present idea for you under $30 right um anyway um Meep sure please tell me how to pronounce your name um desona kind of same you just joined and immediately got distracted by wanting to set up um gets free writing set up right stace’s like now I want cheex mix darn it you can make it at home it only takes an hour and a half is if you have the stuff um what card did we get today we got the cat and then Stacy pulled the Chariot and then I was intending to pull a card and I tumped my tech over backwards and The Chariot was on the bottom so the cat and the Chariot those are our cards for today you’re trying real hard to ignore current events yep yep yep same they were the mini marshmallows if they were full siiz you’d have tried to toast them yes hand warming tunnel for your hands is a muff yes but I I figured there would be something for your keyboard like so that you can make essentially like a cave for your keyboard and then still touch type surely somebody has one of those I don’t know um you have thought about getting thin gloves to keep your hands warm while typing during the colder months [Music] um the ones that have the the ends not uh fing fingerless gloves where they go up to like your last knuckle yeah I didn’t know those existed I like a cold bedroom except when you’re typing your hands and legs get cold sitting at your desk gotcha yeah it would concern me having heat on your keyboard yeah and that’s the thing like that’s why when there people are like oh the automatic shut off keeps turning off after 30 minutes I’m like that’s probably a good thing maybe it’s just me and my limited knowledge of electronics but that’s probably a good thing that would get my wrist form at least maybe I need the electric fingertips finger tipless gloves also an option yes you don’t have the stuff to make checks mix oh no oh no you have a $10 mini heater that works well you usually only use it when you type but I can’t remember where it is oh no that should be your mission is to find where that is to at some point today so also Stacy if you have a Costco around Costco sells the threein one box so it gets you the corn rice and wheat checks in a box set and then you can toss in whatever else other like pretzels Cheerios peanuts whatever else you want in there for extra crunch um of course you do have to have the the the wash your sister sauce the was s sauce uh I ran across somebody else calling it the wash your sister sauce again I was like oh no that’s GNA stick in my brain for a while and yes it has all right let’s go ahead and do another Sprint second Sprint is the selfpromo Sprint so please make sure that if you have something that you want to promote that is writing adjacent so if you have a YouTube channel twitch Channel Etsy store Amazon author page website blog social media handles any of that kind of stuff that’s writing adjacent especially if you have books out books coming out soon books out recently or books on sale let us know where to find you and your Works yes exactly there’s so many so many wrong ways that people mispronounce it but I I still think the wash your sister sauce is the best the best of them that I have heard so if you if you know of one the tops wash your sister sauce let me know because I will forever laugh at that um you don’t care for the rice checks they also have them at the Sam’s Club you saw them when they were there last gotcha so do you substitute anything else instead of the rice chicks do you just like double up on corn or wheat um I find that the wheat ones the wheat cheex mix absorb more of the sauce than any of the others and I don’t know what that is but you live near a place called okay guess how this is pronounced okay so it could be the way that it is written toester to two sister I don’t know you’ll have to tell us how to phonetically say this you always add extra wish sauce yes if you’re in Boston it’s just Wooster yeah yes oh you found the heater yay excellent hopefully now you won’t be cold rereading this Sprint I got a little bit more done um I also took a bio break and went and got the broom to show y’all um so I have that over off to the side um funny thing is when you you know how the author pronounces it but no one from the publisher gave the audiobook narrator the memo oh no yeah that would be frustrating and then it compounds the issue because then the Audi book readers um insist that it’s like one pronunciation pronunciation there we go whatever um I also think it’s funny that uh Benedict Cumberbatch pronounced the word penguin so many different ways when doing the narration for a documentary uh special that was always fun um 821 for Daisy nice excellent fantastic Heather walked May gave her a treat confirmed an appointment via email and did a bit of client admin work fantastic JM got 800 nice excellent good good good uh self-promo is make sure that you are subscribed and following your fellow sprinters and the uh channels that host Sprints myself so close to finishing the end of your first draft that’s amazing um that’s awesome I always feel like when I get near the end I get impatient so I have to kind of like make sure I rain myself in um but yeah so okay so um I have mentioned before that I took the whisk broom so small broom making class in mid October and I’ve shown a couple of the brooms that I did um I ordered some of the thread the nylon thread from the the same company that um the instructor used because I liked some of the colors but they had a Christmas one they had a variegated um red white and green um and so I I made a Christmas broom and I attached little tiny Bells from our craft supplies to it so behold the Christmas broom and all of its somewhat Glory so it’s a smaller whisk broom sort of in between the smallest and the bigger of the Whisk brooms but I tied little Jingle Bells to it so that it’s can be cute you can imagine it hanging up somewhere um I thought maybe we we’d have like a an angel or like some wings or something but I couldn’t find them in the craft cabinet and I found these instead so I was like those will do so I have a little Christmas room now yay so I’m very pleased I do need to um text my sister-in-law because one of her favorite colors is blue but I have two different Blues I have the a dark royal blue and I have a light almost sort of like turquoisey so I’m going to have to text her and be like which blue do you like and then like do you want the beads or not um and she I don’t I don’t think I can’t remember if I told her I was taking the broom making class or not so I don’t know if she’ll have any idea or if it’s just gonna be a surprise but yeah so Christmas broom Babble BR coo patch yes yes Heather says I’m all booked through late quarter 1 for longer editing works but I have availability in March and quarter two nice so if you are finishing your draft now and you want to have December January and February to have like editing passes then you can um um the krer I bought a Starbucks then I left it on the checkout counter so I come home and coffee I was mad at myself oh well it was like it was just a like plain coffee but still you love the Christmas broom yay as a wit who enjoys Christmas I think I need one too I it’s honestly it’s surprisingly fun and easy it’s not easy but it’s very it’s simple and I am enjoying it so I do have the stock portions so um the this part is known as The Hurl H hurl and so then down here where they would connect naturally that’s the stock part so you can cut off the stocks and then use them to do traditional plating um or braiding weaving techniques so you would like then have the woven stocky read part that would cover part of this as a different design element so I bought some of those the the the chunk part um but I haven’t soaked them and cut them into the parts that you use for the weaving yet so I’m being lazy with it but the the the simple aspect of it like that is quite fun so JM says I’ve got 4,79 today so far wow that’s amazing only 221 to get to your goal uh but you really want to finish that’d be amazing how about how do you know can you estimate about how much until you’re done done or are you just G to like go until it gets done Heather says make sure to take care of the like button yes it appreciates it and so do I uh JM says congrats to desmona for finishing main tropes for your work in progress if it is not in one of those four that I put up there please just let me know what your main Trope is um but yeah I think um one of mine is is probably probably contracted relationship but it’s also kind of Dam dam soul and distress or technically they’re both in distress I don’t I don’t know how that works like characters in distress not just the damn soul but yeah um okay so JM is going to go until it’s done you usually end up with 75,000 burst drafts but you think this may end up being 70 for the first round somewhere between 70 and 73 gotcha it’s it uh some sort of like Thriller some sort of Adventure or mystery added into it um like it can’t just be romance so there has to be more more more more anyway um Heather says I added a book to the recommendation Laura says hello got my typing certification 60 words per minute officially excellent um I looked it up because I wasn’t sure I was like to you know is this for just like adding to the resume is it for particular job I wound up Googling it um and California the state of California has a typing certificate a requirement for like State Civil Service clerical positions um so I I don’t know if that would necessarily make you like a uh what because the the federal is like GS something or other so like governmental service um I don’t know if that is also for the federal level in California or if it’s just for the state level stuff I don’t know um you have to duck out for a while but you got an additional 114 thank you very much very good Alexander says thanks for the Sprints oh no here we go maybe okay so what is your M work in progress’s main Trope with that a little bit uh 42% of us have um either the hero’s journey or the chosen one archetype SL Trope um still not popping up swap over to the there we go 31% have enemies to lovers or something similar 15% have a red herring slash locked room and 10% have time travel or dual or multiple timeline which is fun and then we also had some others discussed in the chat so yeah exciting next so Fridays uh Fridays is what is your writing ritual if you have one do you light a candle do you draw a tarot card do you make coffee as funky does every time um do you like have to put your hair up as is the case most oftentimes with me um or like do you have to put on some music that’s for your particular project type of thing so like thinking about what your like writing ritual or Superstition kind of things are so that’s for Friday and if you don’t have one do you want one and what would it be it’s not a good app but it’s better than nothing understood thanks as always you’re welcome you’re very welcome all right y’all hopefully that allowed us to get a little bit of work done today despite current events or
