[Music] so hey guys welcome back to another video and as you can see in today’s video we are going to be looking at a few things i’ve always been interested in we’re going to be having a look at budget reflection vocal booth and filters and even a phone pop screen filter and see which one you should get for your home studio setup [Music] so before we jump into things i’d first like to ask you going to be doing a sound test comparison between each of these items with a talking test and a singing test and then right at the end i’m going to go through each one in terms of setup look and design and overall sound quality and hopefully help you pick the perfect one for your home studio setup but without any further ado let me stop talking get straight into things and have a look at what these products are all about the first portable isolation booth we’re going to have a look at is the choice studio vocal booth box costing around 45 dollars the booth comes as a rectangular fold-out design size 12 inches by 15 inches with a depth of 12 inches that should fit most mics the item includes five separate acoustic panels that strap into each side of the box the booth is then lowered onto an additional stand connecting rest which keeps its height constant after everything is all set up your microphone connects to the stand as normal with the microphone cable leading out on the side of the box keeping things clean and functional the next portable isolation booth we’re going to have a look at is the coden isolation shield kit costing around 40 dollars this kit includes a disc tripod stand a pop filter and a fold out reflection filter in terms of putting it all together the tripod stand connects to the reflection filter and the pop filter connects to the tripod stand from there you connect your microphone place the pop filter in front of the capsule and you’re ready to go and the final reflection filter booth we’re going to have a look at is the millen audio foam pop filter costing around 50 this foam pop filter comes in a circular ball shape design with an average foam thickness of 2.5 inches this unique design allows for the fitting of a pop filter in the front creating a total chamber around your microphone in terms of setting it up the foam ball includes a spacing to slide your microphone in place so no need to remove anything from the stand as soon as you’ve placed it correctly place in the pop filter and you’re ready to go so now that we know a little bit more about each item it’s time to move on to the most important part and that is to see how good these foam isolation vocal boots reflection filters actually work and the only way to figure that out is by doing a sound test so i now have the vocal booth set up and ready to go and for those of you that are wondering the microphone that i am using is the audio technica at2020 and i actually have someone using a leaf blower right outside my apartment window so we can actually really test out how good this product works but for the start this is what the vocal booth sounds like and i now have the reflection filter set up and ready to go and i still have the leaf blower making quite a bit of a noise outside so the comparison is still fair but when it comes to talking through this microphone using the reflection filter this is what it sounds like and then lastly i have the melon audio isolation foam pop filter set up and ready to go and i still have the leaf blower outside making quite a bit of a noise so the comparison is still fair but when it comes to talking through the microphone using this product this is what it sounds like when the night has come and the land is dark and the moon is the only light we’ll see [Music] no i won’t [Music] just as long as you stand stand by me oh darling darling stand by me no stand by me or stand by me now stand by me okay so we’ve now gone through each of these items in terms of the overall look and design how they set up and the overall vocal quality with this kind of acoustic treatment design in the vocal booth reflection filter and the foam isolation pop shield and i must say that overall for the price i do think they do a really cool job you aren’t going to be able to pick all three of them because when you’re recording vocals you obviously can only use one at a time so the question is which one do you take for your home studio setup and to help you make that final decision i’m going to rate these items individually from the look and design the time it takes to set them up and how difficult it is to set each one up obviously the vocal quality that you get with each one and then last but not least the portability of each item these are for me the most important things to look at to really get what you need out of an item like this for your home studio setup starting off with the overall look and design of these items i do think they all look pretty cool the one that doesn’t look as great as the rest for me is this foam vocal booth the fact that the foam sticks out in the front that the box isn’t really square like it’s squeezing out on certain size and overall you can just see that this is a cheap item and it doesn’t really look classy compared to the foam isolation pop filter and the reflection filter for me these just look a lot more classy and neat compared to the foam isolation box for my final rating focused on look and design in last place i’m going to have the vocal in second place i’m gonna have the foam isolation pop filter and in first place i’m gonna go with the reflection filter moving on to my rating of the setup and set down process of each of these items and how long it takes to really get started in last place again i’m going to have to go with the vocal booth mainly because the foam comes compressed which means you have to try and put it in water and get it to soak out and really stand out and sometimes it doesn’t even work too well so it really does take some time to put all of this together plus the whole process of putting them inside these with the elastics is also quite a tedious process so putting it all together this definitely has to be in last place and in second place i’m gonna have to go with the pop reflection filter there’s so many gadgets that come with this the tripod the pop fill to the stand quite a few screws and things so putting it all together does take a little bit of time but not close to as much as the vocal booth and then in first place i’m gonna have to go with the isolation pop filter it’s literally right onto your microphone put on the pop filter and you’re ready to go and my final rating which is probably the most important focusing on the sound quality and recording quality you get using these items and how good they are when it comes to absorbing sound reflecting and stopping that bouncing around of sound all over the place and in last place unfortunately i have gone with a reflection filter the fact that it doesn’t cover the bottom and the top means you still have sound bouncing off your desk and off the ceiling and places like this so it isn’t fully effective whereas with these two items that are very very good in terms of covering your entire microphone and really getting no sound from bouncing anywhere i do think that the foam isolation pop filter is slightly better than the vocal booth because it covers your microphone entirely whereas here you still have the front quite open but it is quite protected inside here so they do do a good good good job and this one also does a good job but it’s just not as effective so the final question you probably have is which of these items should you get for your home studio setup and some of you probably even want to know which item i would take if i had to pick between these three and honestly my number one choice would have to be the melon audio isolation pop filter yes it is ten dollars more than these two but for me a lot less firstly can go wrong with this item it doesn’t have a stand that can break a reflection filter that can break doesn’t have foam that might not expand so there’s a lot less that can go wrong firstly and secondly in terms of setting it up it’s really really simple to do you just put it on your microphone you start recording you can leave it on your microphone it looks good or you can tuck it away it doesn’t take a lot of time to set up and sit down but most importantly in terms of overall sound quality it also does the best job for me this is great it does take up space on your desk which is not ideal but it is a good item but not as good in terms of the vocal quality that you’re going to get with the mill and audio and this is also a good item but you can’t deny that the overall look of this just does not look as good as the millen audio isolation pop filter so for me this item just takes a lot more boxes and it would probably be the item i would go for every single time so that brings this video to an end of my comparison focused on the best reflection vocal boost that you can get on amazon on a budget right now and how good they will be for your home studio setup and just a
