[Music] my [Music] hi i’m james i’m the marketing manager here at rise at seven riser seven is a search first creative agency we’ve actually only been around for two and a half years so we’ve gone from two our two co-founders um starting back in june 2019. fast forward to now we’re about 110 people um we have officers around the uk and are opening new york soon um we’ve got a really impressive client list like we’re so proud of the clients we have um so like pretty little thing boo hoo boo hoo man nasty we do a lot of in the fashion space but we also have lots of tech clients and like finance clients which they’re a bit more nda so i can’t really talk about them but um yeah we have a whole whole field of like household names and yeah we basically are a digital marketing agency but everything we do has search at the heart of it so essentially what we do for our clients is drive traffic to their website and we do this through a number of means whether it’s pr seo um social campaigns all sorts my role i’m the marketing manager here right so everything internal comes through me so i’m in charge of the internal brand so anything you see from a riser seven social channel from a from a marketing perspective uh i’m responsible for that um so basically it’s my job lead generation when it what it comes down to making sure that marketing funnel is full and yeah i take a real ownership on the branding side of it which is a bit of a close to my heart [Music] so no no single day is the same everyone says this is never interview but no single day is the same here arise from um from whether i’m doing creating so i’m i’m i i’m also a bit of a designer a bit of content i’ve come from a content creation background videographer um so i’m lucky that i can create lots of content myself for the brand um so from a day to day i’m managing social channels doing marketing strategy doing managing our website we’re currently going through a big website rebuild so that’s like the majority focus of my work but every day is different i’ve got a very small team which i’ll work closely with and yeah i’m lucky to absolutely love my job [Music] the best thing about working around seven is because look as cliche as it sounds as and is genuinely like the people we work with like everyone here is so sound um we’ve got a really good like environment which we work in which is obviously as you can see beautiful to be a part of um and yeah i love the freedom that i have in my role um we get the we get to be creative in everything we do and yeah the people really make it like just worth coming into the office at 9 a.m so there’s there’s a new thing in the industry right now which has been it’s called digital pr but it’s it’s not digital pr it is just pr what we do traditional pr i said traditional pr is essentially like getting things on billboards getting you in in in the press like in the newspapers but what we do is just make it trackable so what we do is that when we do a campaign for our clients we can track every single thing if um if adidas put up a massive billboard in times square in new york we can only estimate how many people see that that billboard um but what we can do is with our campaigns is we can track everything because it’s all it’s all done digitally that we can measure the traffic driven to a website on one of our campaigns so the future definitely is more digitally focused you obviously see right now you look anywhere in the press right there’s a the metaverse and nfts and some people are a bit sick of it but i mean it’s coming um so the digital world is accelerating quickly and it’s expanding so we’ve got to be as a as a an agency at the forefront of that and help our clients enter that space data and insight is almost at the heart of everything we do when we run a creative campaign we’ve got insight and data into why it will succeed we know journalists talk about it we know people are searching about it we know it’s a current trend in the market so our data every client here um has a basically a data lead associated with it and the data teams are responsible for getting that data proving why an idea might work and almost reporting on on the campaigns that we do so for instance i’m going to give an example of soul supplier squid game was massive this year on netflix um it was everywhere every single country everyone was talking about squid uh squid game what our data team found and through our the data tools that we built in-house we saw that searchers were spiking for white bands everyone’s wearing white vans on on netflix and we saw that the the world was suddenly googling white vans um and we got that we knew that before anyone else and what the source player do they they can resell white bands they’re a reseller um so we put our client in the middle of a trending trending topic so we outreached that to press that every the search demand is sky high for squid game and what happened we had like 600 media placements for sales player and everyone was going to solve supplier for them we even got a retweet off netflix so it’s it’s just it’s you’ve got to be quick you’ve got to be active and that’s why your data and insight teams need to be on it [Music] ux and ui is essential to our clients without a good user experience on site customers will not be able to buy the our clients products and obviously to uh to come to a client that is huge um and obviously if they don’t rank high on google because of that reason they can lose literally millions of pounds so it’s it’s it’s essential in the day and age and everyone’s competing right now everyone’s trying to be the the best in their field everyone’s trying to get that number one spot because the difference between being on the front page of google and the second page of google is millions so the competition is high so everyone every client or every business out there is battling to try and get the best ui and best ux and having data that the journalists want to talk about so we’ve partnered with the fra um basically doing master classes let’s almost having a glass door approach to our to our agency and that’s what we’re very passionate about we’re very passionate about training and teaching young talented students so we’ve opened up master classes we’ve gone in and given guest lectures and we’ve also had a few mentorship opportunities uh samaria one of our digital pr managers international digital pr managers uh has mentored one of the students and i believe those those mentorships are open and still going and yeah we hope we’re going to do more guest lectures throughout the time and yeah hopefully all the students who get can see what it’s really like to work and what their the courses they’re doing how it will actually affect them in the working life [Music] education is really great but when it comes down to if you get a first or two one we’re probably not going to look at the grade but we’re going to probably look what they do uh extracurricular how have they connected to the marketing world are they networking with individuals are they positive like confident are they putting themselves out there looking for those opportunities the people who are looking for opportunities in digital marketing world will go and find them linkedin and twitter are massive for the communities so i would say get involved with them follow people who you inspire you and to try and network as most as you can as much as you can [Music]
